In 2010, China became the world leader in Fine Art auction sales, a position long-held by the U.S. (artprice.com). In 2011, three of the top ten artists sold at international auction were by Chinese artists (artmarket.com). In December 2012, of the ten most expensive works of fine art sold at auction, seven were by Chinese artists and four of those artists outsold Claude Monet (artnet.com). Needless to say, the art market in China continues to be hot!
